Zomber: An Arms Collector and Author

Michael Zomber is a man with unique credentials. He is a collector, author, filmmaker, dealer, and philanthropist. Born in Washington DC, Michael, his wife, and two children reside in MD near the beautiful Chesapeake Bay. He graduated from UCLA with bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and English Literature, and a master’s in English Literature.

Michael strives to protect and preserve history by caring, collecting and selling antique arms. These include the antique Japanese samurai swords. His mission is to work with other like-minded individuals to safeguard the past.

As an arms collector

Michael has been an arms collector for over thirty years now. As a guest historian, he has shared his prowess with America on the History Channel, Tales of the Gun, which included the following episodes: Guns of the Orient, Shotguns, Guns of the Famous, Automatic Pistols, Dueling Pistols and a Million Dollar guns. Michael is a recognized expert on the weapons as well as the armor of Japanese samurai.

Michael owns treasured ancient weapons from all over the world. His proficiency is strongest between the sixteenth and nineteenth century and consists of Islamic, Japanese, European and American arms. He collects and sells the antique weapons, with high respect for the artistic characteristics of fine craft.

As a writer

At heart, Michael is a storyteller with writing credits that include seven screenplays. He has four published novels, Sweet Betsy and Son of Kentucky focused on the times of civil war. Soul of the Samurai is a historical novel set in the 17th century Japan and Jesus and the Samurai talks briefly about early Christianity in Japan.

Michael is a fascinating author with a vast canvas of history. Michael Zomber is also committed to supporting organizations whose mandate is to embrace peace, such as Doctors Without Borders, UNICEF, Global Exchange and Amnesty International.
